DENNIS RADFORD
Managing Director & Principal Consultant
Dennis has over 30 years’ experience working in the agriculture sector in both the government and private sector. His work has included general management of New Zealand’s largest on-farm consultancy business, agribusiness consultancy, international capacity building project work specialising in human capability projects and vocational training solutions. Dennis’ experience spans many areas such as Lao PDR, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Chile, Africa, Fiji, Samoa and the Cook Islands. Dennis focusses primarily on project design, project management, stakeholder relationship management and developing effective capacity building frameworks.

PROF PAUL KENYON
Massey University, NZ
Prof Kenyon is the Deputy Head of the School of Agriculture and Environment at Massey University and a Processor of Sheep Husbandry. He teaches into the Animal Science, Agriculture, and Veterinary programmes at the undergraduate level and supervises both Masters and PhD students. His research interests are focused on improving productivity in sheep and beef cattle farming systems.

DR PENNY BACK

Dr Back is a Senior Lecturer in Dairy Production int he Schools of Agriculture and Environment and Veterinary Science at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Dr Back teaches into the Animal Science, Agriculture and Veterinary programmes at the undergraduate level and supervises both Masters and PhD students. Research interests include improving the growth of young stock to enhance future productivity and survival.

PROF STEPHEN MORRIS

Professor Morris is one of New Zealand’s most experienced and knowledgeable sheep and beef productivity experts, cemented through 35 years of engagement both with New Zealand industry and through a number of noteworthy international collaborations with world-leading universities and private-sector firms. His current role is Professor in Animal Science and leader of the beef and sheep group with the Institute of Veterinary Agriculture and the Environment at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand. He is also Director of the International Sheep Research Centre at Massey University.

BRENDAN VALE
Ministry for Primary Industries
Brendan is a qualified veterinarian who commenced his career in a mixed veterinary clinical practice. In the early 1990s he joined the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (now Ministry of Primary Industries - MPI) and commenced a career as a meat veterinarian verifying hygiene and meat inspection in the meat slaughterhouse industry. Over the last 25 years Brendan has held a range of technical and managerial roles including Regional Technical Manager for the Hawkes Bay/East Coast region where he led the MPI team of approximately 40 staff working across 10 export and local market slaughter facilities. Responsibilities included setting the technical standards for the team, completing regular assessments (technical reviews) of the slaughterhouses and other premises and staff management.

JEREMY NEILD
Chief Technical Adviser
Jeremy Neild has over 40 years’ experience in the agricultural sector, firstly as a government extension agent and then as an economic and business consultant to government and industry-good agencies, and private sector companies. Jeremy’s specialty areas are in monitoring and evaluation, agricultural economics and financial management, farm management and systems analysis, business development, programme planning and delivery, short education workshop development, market information analysis, rural policy development. Jeremy has experience working in Chile, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Lao PDR and Vanuatu.

Project Implementation Specialist
Bounthavy has considerable experience as a rural development and project management specialist. He has worked in various fields, including as a capacity development expert, economist and trainer for aid projects and central/local government. Bounthavy’s responsibilities for LQBI are in data and information analysis, establishment of pastures and demonstration of beef farming systems and the supply chain, leading the project implementation at local level.

GEORGE SCHULER
Chief Technical Adviser
George has considerable experience and an in-depth knowledge of training, assessment and delivery having spent over 23 years with the New Zealand Primary Industry Training Organisation. This experience, combined with previous roles as a farm owner, agricultural contractor and polytechnic tutor, enables the varied skillset to contribute to the current role of Chief Technical Adviser with the Myanmar Industry Training Activity (MITA) in Mandalay, Myanmar.
